A summit in the S of the Isle of Bute, Covin Hill rises to approximately 80m (262 feet) to the north of Dunagoil and a mile (1.6 km) southwest of Kilchattan Bay. Geologically, the hill comprises basalt lavas of the Clyde Plateau Volcanic Formation, erupted during the Carboniferous Era, between 331 and 352 million years ago.
