A headland on the west coast of the Rhins of Galloway in Dumfries and Galloway, Ardwell Point lies at the southern end of Ardwell Bay, nearly 8 miles (13 km) south of Portpatrick. Doon Castle, one of the best-preserved of the small handfull of 1st century AD brochs in western Galloway, stands on a low rocky promontory.
