Hough Beach

(Tràigh Hough)

A long sandy beach on the west coast of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, Hough Beach (Gael: Tràigh Hough) lies to the northeast of Rubha Chraiginis and ¾ mile (1.2 km) west of Beinn Hough. This beach is exposed to the North Atlantic and thus has excellent waves, making it popular with surfers and windsurfers. There is an extensive dune system behind the beach, with associated machair.
