Loch Awe Railway Station


(Loch Obha)

A small railway station is on the Oban Branch of the West Highland Line, Loch Awe Station (Gael: Loch Obha) is located in the settlement of Lochawe, close to the northeastern extremity of the loch of the same name. It was opened by Callander & Oban Railway in 1880. It is preceded by Dalmally Railway Station, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) to the east, and followed by Falls of Cruachan, 2¾ miles (4.5 km) to the west. Operated by ScotRail, Loch Awe Station is unstaffed and was used by only 2926 passengers in 2009-10.
