Kingsknowe Railway Station

Kingsknowe Railway Station (referred to as Cnoc an Rìgh in Gaelic) lies on the West Coast Main Line, a half-mile (1 km) north northwest of Colinton and a mile (1.5 km) south southwest of Stenhouse in the City of Edinburgh. This station was opened in 1848 on the former Caledonian Railway. Today it provides local services between Edinburgh, Shotts and Glasgow Central. It is preceded by Slateford Railway Station, a mile (1.5 km) to the east northeast, and followed by Wester Hailes, a similar distance to the west southwest. Operated by ScotRail, Kingsknowe Railway Station is unstaffed and was used by around 20,000 passengers in 2016.
