Inverness Firth

The section of the Inner Moray Firth, between Inverness and the narrows between Chanonry Point and Fort George, is known as the Inverness Firth. The settlements of Avoch and Fortrose lie on the northern shore, together with the inlet of Munlochy Bay. On its southern shore are Inverness itself, Culloden, Ardersier and Inverness Airport. To the west is the Beauly Firth, while to the northeast is the large triangular estuary which represents the Outer Moray Firth.
