Ness of Galtagarth

A peninsula within the inlet of Hamna Voe on the south coast of Yell in Shetland, the Ness of Galtagarth would be an island were it not for a narrow strip of land which connects its eastern end to the shore at Houlland. The peninsula is also attached on its northern side at low tide, and between this and its easterly attachment is an enclosed area of brackish water known as the Loch of Galtagarth.
