Ciste Dhubh

One of four 'Munros' on a ridge known as the North Glen Shiel Range, Ciste Dhubh rises steeply to 979m (3219 feet) on the border of the Skye & Lochalsh and Inverness districts of Highland Council Area. Its name is derived from the Gaelic for "black chest". Its prominence, of 388m / 1273 feet, gains it an additional classification as a 'Marilyn'. Confusingly, there is another Munro, Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe, located 4 miles (7 km) to the west.
