Castle Ewen

A rock pillar within Fairy Glen in NW Skye, Castle Ewen represents an uncollapsed remnant of the Trotternish plateau surrounded by landslips. Geologically, the pillar comprises soft Jurassic sedimentary rocks capped by hard basalt lavas.
