A channel separating the west coast of the island of Hascosay from the much larger island of Yell in Shetland, Hascosay Sound averages a half-mile (1 km) in width. The Hascosay Sound meets the South Sound at the mouth of Mid Yell Voe, and extends northwards to the mouth of Basta Voe.
