Frenchman's Rocks

The Frenchman's Rocks represent a dangerous group of three large and several smaller rocks located a quarter-mile (0.4 km) west of Rubha na Faing on the Rhinns of Islay. They acquired their name after a squadron of three French ships was driven onto them in 1760 after a battle with the Royal Navy. Several other ships have been wrecked here, including the Blythville (1908), Ida Adams (1930) and Agios Minas (1968).
