Dunalastair


(Mount Alexander)

An estate by the River Tummel, Perth and Kinross, Dunalastair estate lies between Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch, 3 miles (5 km) west of Tummel Bridge. Dunalastair, or Mount Alexander, was for many years the home of the Robertsons of Struan, chiefs of the Clan Donnachaidh. Dunalastair Reservoir to the west is part of the Tummel hydroelectric scheme. The ruined Baronial-style Dunalastair House was dates from 1852.
