Aldie Castle

Aldie Castle is located near the settlement of Aldie in Perth and Kinross and is believed to have been acquired by the powerful Mercer family, merchants in Perth, about the middle of the 14th Century. It was named after Aldia Murray, daughter of Sir William Murray of Tullibardine. The present fortified keep, restored between the 1930s and 1960s, dates largely from the 16th and 17th centuries.
