Harelaw Reservoir

(Harelaw Dam)

A small disused reservoir located amongst the Fereneze Hills of East Renfrewshire, on the border with Renfrewshire, Harelaw Reservoir (or Harelaw Dam) lies a mile (1.5 km) west northwest of Barrhead and 2½ miles (4 km) south of Paisley. Retained by an earth embankment dam, it covers an area of 13 ha (32 acres). It remains the property of Scottish Water and provides a popular recreational fishery. Confusingly, there is another Harelaw Reservoir in Inverclyde 13 miles (21 km) to the northwest.
