A modest summit in the S of West Lothian, Cobbinshaw Hill rises to 294m (964 feet) amongst a post-industrial landscape a mile (1.5 km) east of Cobbinshaw Reservoir and 1½ miles (2.5 km) north northeast of Tarbrax. The Tarbrax Oil Shale Mine once operated on the southern slopes of the hill.
