The site of a 2nd-century AD Roman fort in Dumfries and Galloway, Raeburnfoot is located at the junction of the Rae Burn with the White Esk a mile (1.5 km) north of Eskdalemuir. It probably lies close to the point where the Roman road to Newstead crossed the Esk during the Antonine period.
