The Scottish National Golf centre was established by the Scottish Golf Union (SGU) at Drumoig, an exclusive private residential and sporting development, lying some 3 miles (5 km) north of Leuchars and 8 miles (13 km) northwest of the international home of golf, St. Andrews.
The centre, which was developed from 1996, provides some of the best coaching facilities for amateur golfers available in Scotland. These include a gymnasium, driving range, and indoor and outdoor practice holes featuring different surfaces and configurations. Sophisticated video equipment is available to provide detailed analysis of the golf swing.
The headquarters of the SGU, the governing body for the amateur sport in Scotland, is also located on the site.
