Alva Glen

Alva Glen is a picturesque gorge that descends steeply from the Ochil Hills to the village of Alva in Clackmannanshire. Bisected by the Alva Burn, which includes several waterfalls, the lower glen is wooded and was once a pleasure ground where people could walk and be entertained from the bandstand. The upper glen is wilder and enjoyed by hill-walkers. Alva Glen Heritage Trust was formally established in 2005, with the aim of restoring and regenerating the glen as a focus for the local community. The Trust organises the Alva Glen Illuminations as a biennial event.
