A short river of the West Highlands, the River Finnan rises as headstreams around Sgurr Thuilm and flows south southwest through Glen Finnan to enter Loch Shiel a quarter-mile (0.5 km) east of the settlement of Glenfinnan, having completed a course of 4¼ miles (7 km).
