Ruival

(Ruaival, Ruaval, Rueval, Ruabhal)

A cone-shaped summit and a headland on the south coast of the island of Hirta (St. Kilda), Ruival (variously Ruaival, Ruaval, Rueval, Gael: Ruabhal) rises to approximately 150m (492 feet) on the southeastern shoulder of Mullach Sgar. This forms the western shore of Village Bay, a half-mile (1 km) southwest of Am Baile. The Mistress Stone, which was used by generations of St. Kildan men to prove their courage, is located here.
