(North Water Bridge)

A handsome four-span bridge which crosses the River North Esk, between Angus and Aberdeenshire, the Marykirk Bridge carries the A937 road between Craigo (Angus) and Marykirk (Aberdeenshire). Sometimes known as the North Water Bridge, this structure was built in 1811-14 by Robert Stevenson (1772 - 1850). It is constructed of buff dressed sandstone and features recessed circular embellishments on the spandrels and rounded ashlar cutwaters.
