Mitchell's Close

Located to the north of Haddington's town centre, Mitchell's Close is a street built in the 17th century that housed local merchants. The houses have a narrow strip of land, or rigg, behind them, a layout which dates from Mediaeval times, on which livestock would have been raised and vegetables grown.
