Foula War Memorial

A prominent monument located on Durga Ness on the east coast of the island of Foula in Shetland, the Foula War Memorial was built in the years following the First World War to commemorate the five local men who died during the conflict. It was designed by the island's laird Prof. Ian Holbourn (1870 - 1935) and comprises a square stone tower with a castellated top. The monument also remembers a further islander killed during the Second World War.
