Scalloway Islands

The collective name for a group of uninhabited islands lying to the west of Scalloway in Shetland, the Scalloway Islands include Hildasay, Linga, Lamba, Cheynies, Green Holm, Papa and Oxna, together with several other smaller islets and rocks. Some sources include the larger inhabited islands of Trondra, West Burra and East Burra to the south, which are now connected to the Shetland Mainland by the Trondra Bridge, at the northeastern tip of that island, opposite Scalloway. Traditionally, however, these islands are not included.
