Fair Maid Sculpture

A public art installation located on the pedestrianised High Street of Perth, the Fair Maid Sculpture comprises the form of Sir Walter Scott's heroine seated on a bench, with a book on her lap. Members of the public sit next to the figure, sometimes for a photograph, but often just to rest. The bronze sculpture was created in 1995, the work of English sculptor Graham Ibbeson (b.1951) who is better known for the statue of Eric Morecambe in Morecambe (Lancashire), Cary Grant in Bristol and Laurel and Hardy in Cumbria. The Fair Maid's House lies to the north in Curfew Row.
