Craigluscar Compensation Reservoir

A reservoir in W Fife, Craigluscar Compensation Reservoir is located on the southern slopes of Craigluscar Hill, 1¼ miles (2 km) northeast of Gowkhall. Lying to the west of a pair of reservoirs (Craigluscar West Reservoir and Craigluscar East Reservoir) used for the supply of drinking-water to Dunfermline, its purpose is to maintain the water level in the Carnock Burn, which issues from here. The reservoir is managed by Scottish Water and extends to an area of 7.9 ha (19.5 acres).
