Gigha Golf Course

The nine-hole Gigha Golf Course is located within rolling meadowland at Drumyeonbeg in the centre of the island, a half-mile (1 km) north of Ardminish. Golf came to Gigha in the later 19th C. and was played at Leim in the southwest of the island until 1925. This course having fallen from use, local golfers established a new course at Tarbert in 1986, and the same men created the current course two years later with the support of the island's laird. Open all year round, the course extends to 2521 yards (2305m) and, when played twice to give 18 holes, has a par of 66.
