War Memorial Park

A small park located on East Mains Road in East Kilbride, War Memorial Park has as its centrepiece a large Celtic cross on a substantial rubble base which commemorates the men of the Parish of East Kilbride who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars. The land was gifted in early 1920 from the estate of Allan Barns-Graham and extends to 0.8 ha (2 acres). The park was opened and memorial unveiled by Barns-Graham on 1st May 1921, and he was presented with a silver gilt presentation key to mark the occasion.
