Dindinnie Lower Reservoir

(New Dindinnie Reservoir)

A tiny reservoir retained by a concrete dam, Dindinnie Upper is located in rolling hills 2 miles (3 km) west of Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway. Also known as New Dindinnie Reservoir, it was built as an extension to Dindinnie Upper Reservoir, situated immediately to the south, by Stranraer Corporation Water Works for the supply of public drinking-water and is now operated by Scottish Water. Water is blended at Auchneel Treatment Works. It is well stocked with brown and rainbow trout for recreational fishing.
