Calder Glen

The Calder Glen is the valley of the River Calder in Renfrewshire. It stretches northwest from Lochwinnoch as a narrow wooded valley. Calder Glen Mill was established in 1814 for the carding and spinning of wool, drawing water from the Cloak Burn. Water is taken from above the rather spectacular Calder Glen Weir to power the Calder Park Mill, which was built in 1788 to spin cotton.
