Dalwhinnie Railway Station

A remote station on the Highland Line in the village of Dalwhinnie (Gael: Dail Chuinnidh) in Badenoch district of Highland Council Area. It opened in 1863 for the Inverness & Perth Junction Railway, with the buildings completed a year later by Joseph Mitchell (1803-83). Lying between the busier Blair Atholl and Newtonmore stations, Dalwhinnie was used by only 2208 passengers in 2009-10. It is operated by ScotRail and is unstaffed. Only a single track lies to the north, while the line is double to the south.
