Prospect Hill

A summit of S Falkirk, Prospect Hill rises to just beyond 110m (360 feet) a mile (1.5 km) south southwest of the town centre. Today a recreation ground occupies the post-industrial landscape which was the site of Policy Colliery, which operated here between 1929 and 1959. The remarkable Prospecthill Tunnel has carried the Union Canal through the hill since 1822.
