Callendar Lake

An ornamental water body lying within Callendar Park, a mile (1.5 km) east of Falkirk town centre, Callendar Lake dates from c.1790 when it was constructed at the eastern end of a moat which flowed in front of Callendar House. This moat persisted until the end of the 19th C. but is now dry and partially infilled.
