Craigmillar Castle Park Cemetery

Craigmillar Castle Park Cemetery is located at Bridgend in S Edinburgh, adjacent to Craigmillar Castle Jubilee Park, 2 miles (3 km) southeast of the city centre. The cemetery opened in 2010 on part of the former Bridgend Farm to provide additional space for burials as Mortonhall Cemetery became full. It extends to 6 ha (15 acres) and provides 5000 grave spaces. There are areas for the burial of babies, those of Roman Catholic and Islamic faiths, green burials and a significant number of graves of people of Chinese origins. The facility is owned by the City of Edinburgh Council and managed by their Bereavement Services from their base at Mortonhall Crematorium and Cemetery. The modernist Visitors' Pavilion was shortlisted for a Civic Trust Award in 2015.
