Ravenswood Avenue Standing Stone

The rather forgotten Ravenswood Avenue Standing Stone occupies an unusual urban setting within The Inch housing estate in S Edinburgh, lying 2½ miles (4 km) southeast of the city centre. Once standing within the farmland of Liberton Glebe, the stone is now marooned within a pavement and surrounded by an iron railing. It stands 2.05m (6¾ feet) in height but, during the construction of the housing scheme, was moved a short distance from its original position which was in the middle of the present-day road.
