Meadows Yard Local Nature Reserve

A small nature reserve on Fillyside Road in the Seafield district of NE Edinburgh, Meadows Yard includes an established scrub area, a pond & marsh, a young woodland and a wildflower meadow. It was the initiative of the local community on a former allotment site. Previously it had been grazing land, part of Craigentinny Meadows, for cows supplying milk to the nearby Fillyside Dairy. Designated in 2002, it extends to an area of 1.41 ha (3.5 acres). The site is noted for foxes, small birds and dragonfly.
