An industrial estate on the edge of Glenrothes in Fife, Bankhead is located between the A92 Trunk Road and Coaltown of Balgonie, 1½ miles (2.5 km) southeast of the town centre. The estate is dominated by Fife Council's 'super depot' operated from a former Amazon distribution warehouse which the local authority acquired for nearly £7 million in 2010. The building houses a number of council departments, including transport, environmental services, printing, cleansing, building maintenance and grounds maintenance, together with vehicle and equipment storage centralising facilities once distributed across S Central Fife under a single roof. The Bankhead Roundabout is a substantial seven-way intersection on the A92.
