(Eastfield Industrial Estate)

An industrial estate which forms a peripheral district of Glenrothes in Fife, Eastfield lies 1¼ miles (2 km) southeast of the town centre, between the A92 Trunk Road and the settlement of Coaltown of Balgonie. The name Newark (after Newark, New Jersey) appears in several street names, reflecting the desire to attract inward investment from the USA. Other streets are called Baird and Telford after noted Scottish engineers.
