Barlae Hill

A notable hogback in The Machars of the W of Galloway, Barlae Hill rises to 106m (347 feet) on the right bank of the Tarf Water and immediately to the north of the A75 Trunk Road, 5 miles (8 km) east northeast of Glenluce. This is part of an extensive drumlin field and is aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of glacial flow. There is a transmitter mast on the summit and there is another Barlae Hill 8 miles (13 km) to the southeast.
