Barbae

A drumlin in The Machars of Galloway, Barbae rises to 115m (377 feet) on the left bank of Tarf Water, a half-mile (0.8 km) north of Barlae Hill and 3 miles (5 km) west of Kirkcowan. This hillock is part of an extensive drumlin field and is aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of glacial flow. There is another Barbae, which is also a drumlin of very similar height, located 3¾ miles (6 km) to the northeast.
