Long Hill

An elongated whaleback in The Machars of Galloway, Long Hill rises to approximately 100m (328 feet) on the left bank of the Tarf Water, 3½ miles (5.5 km) west northwest of Kirkcowan and 6 miles (10 km) east northeast of Glenluce. There is another Long Hill just 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the northeast and one of similar height located 2½ miles (4 km) to the southwest. Both are part of an extensive drumlin field and are aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of glacial flow.
