Knock Orr

A modest whaleback hill in The Machars of Galloway, Knock Orr rises to just beyond 120m (394 feet) and extends southwest from Birrel Hill, 3¾ miles (6 km) east northeast of Glenluce. The Portpatrick and Wigtownshire Railway once cut through its southern slopes. Knock Orr is one of a number of drumlins in the area, all aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of ice flow within an ancient glacier.
