Bar Hill

A little hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Bar Hill lies within a loop in the River Bladnoch and rises to just beyond 35m (114 feet) 1¼ miles (2 km) east southeast of Kirkcowan. This is part of an extensive drumlin field and is aligned NNE-SSW indicating the direction of glacial flow. There is another Bar Hill located 12 miles (19 km) to the south southeast, which is also a drumlin.
