Spittal Hill

An elongated summit in W Dumfries and Galloway, Spittal Hill rises to 45m (147 feet) on the right bank of the River Bladnoch, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) west of Spittal and 2½ miles (4 km) southeast of Kirkcowan. This is one of a number of drumlins in The Machars, with its principal axis aligned N-S indicating the direction of glacial flow.
