Pauples Hill

Pauples Hill is the northwestern part of a substantial drumlin in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, It rises to just beyond 45m (147 feet) on the left bank of the River Bladnoch, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) north northwest of Spittal and 2½ miles (4 km) southeast of Kirkcowan. The larger part, Knocknamad, lies immediately to the southeast. This is one of a number of drumlins deposited beneath an extensive ice sheet which once covered this area
