Craighlaw Loch

A small lochan within woodland in Dumfries and Galloway, Craighlaw Loch lies on the course of the Ballochraw Burn, forming part of the policies of Craighlaw, 1¼ miles (2 km) west of Kirkcowan. It extends to 2.4 ha (6 acres). There is a small wooded island within the loch and a boathouse on its western shore. A pair of smaller lochans were created downstream towards the end of the 19th C. to improve the landscape.
