A hillock in The Machars of Galloway, Lurg Hill rises to 29m (95 feet) on the right bank of the River Bladnoch, 3 miles (5 km) west of Wigtown. This is a modest drumlin, of a number of more prominent examples in this area, deposited beneath an ancient ice sheet.
