Bar Fauld

(Bar Faulds)

An elongated hill in The Machars of Dumfries and Galloway, Bar Fauld (or Bar Faulds on older Ordnance Survey maps) comprises two summits which rise to 94m / 308 feet and 81m / 265 feet respectively, 2 miles (3 km) north northeast of Spittal. This is one of a number of drumlins in this area and is aligned NNE-SSW suggesting the direction of flow of the glacier which deposited it. A plantation forest lies to the west.
