Kiln Hill

A little hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Kiln Hill rises to just beyond 65m (213 feet) between Auld Hill and Bennan Hill, 3½ miles (5.5 km) east of Kirkcowan. All are drumlins, part of an extensive drumlin field. Kiln Hill has its principal axis aligned NNW-SSE suggesting the direction of glacial flow. There are several other Kiln Hills hereabouts, the nearest being 2¼ miles (3.5 km) to the east northeast, 3½ miles (5.5 km) to the south southwest and 5½ miles (9 km) to the northwest.
