Thorny Hill

An elongated little hogback in The Machars of Galloway, Thorny Hill rises to just beyond 55m (180 feet) 1¼ miles (2 km) east of Torhousemuir and 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Wigtown. This is part of an extensive drumlin field, with its principal axis aligned NNW-SSE suggesting the direction of glacial flow. There is another Thorny Hill 5½ miles (9 km) to the west northwest.
